The D Shaped Panel Pot is based on our modular concept. With strong plastic panels and entrances it will appeal to both the Langoustine and Velvet Crab fishermen.
Trials on the East Coast have shown that it was the best at catching and retaining Velvet Crabs.
It has also been used successfully for catching freshwater crayfish. One customer has just made a repeat order following catches of over 40 crayfish in a short space of time with only one pot .
The pot has a central slim line bait tube shaped like a wine glass. This prevents the bait from being too accessible while adding structural strength and yet not impeding the quick removal of the catch.
It can be weighted by attaching flat steel straps to the base or fastening metal rods to the base with cable ties.
There are various ways of attaching a bridle but we prefer attached the bridle to the top panels.
In case you think that pulling it up by the top panels would pull the pot apart the picture below is of a test we made lifting the pot which is itself “caught”by a 320 Kg weight
